2010 YOG Mascot Launch, 'Lyo & Merly'
The Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games Committee launched the world’s first Youth Olympic Games mascots “Lyo” & “Merly” in November 2009 at the Suntec Singapore International Convention & Exhibition Centre to thousands of spectators, members of the media, and invited guests.
Minister for Community, Youth and Sports Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan was the Guest of Honor for the event, accompanied by, Mr. Teo Ser Luck, Mr. Niam Chiang Meng and Mr. Ng Ser Miang.
Besides the inaugural launch, there were stage performances by sports federations and tertiary institutions, game merchandise and exhibition booths, as well as interactive game try-outs for guests and public to enjoy.
